From the need for professional connection
Vascular disease involves many fields: internal medicine, surgery, vascular intervention, diagnostic imaging, care, and rehabilitation. Doctors need a place to exchange experiences across the boundaries of each specialty and each medical facility. From that need, the mobilization to establish a professional association on vascular disease in Vietnam has been promoted since 2019. The Association’s welcome letter records this preparatory stage.
Establishment milestones
- 11/06/2021: The Ministry of Home Affairs issued Decision No. 729/QD-BNV, allowing the establishment of the Vietnam Vascular Disease Association. See Decision on establishing the Association.
- 21/08/2021: The Association held the 1st Founding General Meeting online in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. The General Meeting consolidated the organization, discussed the Charter and directions of operation for the 2021-2025 term.
- 2021-2025: The Association builds a network of members, functional committees, and activities in training, research, and scientific conferences.
- 2024: The Venous Disease Chapter was established, expanding in-depth activities on venous diseases.
- 29/01/2026: The Association signed decisions to establish four chapters on vascular access, aortic disease, peripheral arterial disease, and vascular trauma.

The Association today
The Vietnam Vascular Disease Association is a voluntary socio-professional organization, gathering people operating legally in the field of vascular disease and related specialties. The five chapters are affiliated professional communities, helping members participate more deeply according to their field of work.
