Vietnam Peripheral Arterial Disease Forum

Chi hội Bệnh Động mạch ngoại biên

Comprehensive professional forum dedicated to screening, early diagnosis, optimal medical therapy, endovascular intervention, and bypass surgery for limb salvage in peripheral arterial disease.

Core Clinical & Technical Focus

Lower extremity arterial disease (LEAD), chronic limb-threatening ischemia (CLTI), complex chronic total occlusions (CTO), carotid/subclavian stenosis, and diabetic foot ulcers.

Vision & Strategic Goals

Mission and Key Objectives

01

Establish an interdisciplinary network spanning vascular surgeons, interventionalists, cardiologists, endocrinologists, and orthopedic specialists.

02

Maximize limb salvage rates and minimize amputation in chronic limb-threatening ischemia (CLTI) and diabetic foot complications.

03

Integrate state-of-the-art endovascular tools: drug-coated balloons (DCB), drug-eluting stents (DES), atherectomy devices, below-the-knee and pedal arch recanalization.

04

Harmonize guideline-directed medical therapy for secondary prevention of major adverse cardiovascular and limb events (MACE & MALE).

05

Host hands-on peripheral intervention training workshops and annual national scientific congresses.

Clinical Domain

Core Procedures, Diagnostics & Interventions

  • Ankle-brachial index (ABI) measurement, arterial Doppler ultrasound, and digital subtraction angiography (DSA).
  • Optimal medical therapy: antiplatelet agents, antithrombotics, intensive lipid lowering, and glycemic control.
  • Aortoiliac and femoropopliteal endovascular recanalization: balloon angioplasty, self-expanding and covered stenting.
  • Complex infrapopliteal and below-the-knee interventions (multilevel disease, CTO, heavy calcification).
  • Carotid and peripheral endarterectomy, surgical bypass grafting using autologous vein or synthetic conduit.
  • Multidisciplinary limb-salvage pathways for diabetic foot ulcers and tissue loss.
