International Union of Angiology – Happy Holidays

Best wishes for the festive season and a happy and successful new year 2024!

I am honored to chair the International Unionof Angiology, a multidisciplinary association whose main goal is to offer its member a fruitful platform for discussing vascular disease, focusing on studies, regular educational and scientific activities.

In the past twelve months we have worked to make the IUA more visibleand stronger. First of all promoting the society among young vascular specialists with dedicated educational activities such as the IUA Course for Young Vascular Specialists, to its 10th edition, held annually in July in Prague, Czech Republic, and the 5th IUA Endovascular Course for Young Vascular Specialists, held in Beijing, China in May.

We continued to renew the structure of the IUA including other national societies and stenghtening our cooperation with them. We have given birth to “Angiology around the world” a programme of joint webinars with Associate societies. The programme started in November with the webinar of the Vascular Society of Nepal and continued with the webinar of the Italian Society for Vascular Investigation. Other webinars are being organized troughout 2024 and the first one by IUA Youth Committee will be on line in January. We encourage the Associate societies to join this project by sending us their proposal and invite all the members to actively participate online (free registration).

To keep up with the times, we are now on the social media!! New profiles of the International Union of Angiology are available on Facebook, Instagram,Linkedin and X and we strongly recommend to visit the pages, follow the IUA and spread the information. If you have your news or event to promote, please do not hesitate to contact the IUA secretariat (secretary@angiology.org).

Our activity and effort culminates every two years in the major event: the 31st IUA World Congress will be held on June 13-15, 2024 in Porto (Portugal), organized by Prof. Armando Mansilha. You are all invited to participate in this important meeting in the wonderful city of Porto (www.iua2024.com)
